Default can I use a cam gear with an aftermarket cam?

I was just wondering if I can use an aftermarket with my mild crane cam? My brother told me that it cannot be done. So I had to make sure before I bought one. Also, does the model of the cam gear make a difference? I've seen many different kinds of gears from cheap to super expensive. Or do they all do the same thing? Shoots. Be waiting for some replys.

You should be able to use any cam gear as long as it's for your engine.

you can use it.

I have heard good things about AEM

As far as priceing goes you usually get what you pay for with acceptions:

dont get the most expensive unless you know why its more expensive.
dont get the cheapest unless you know its just as good as the rest.
quality is the reasoning behind priceing for alot of products.

I would rather spend a lil more buying it once and not have to wory about it breaking

Get skunk2's. They have 6 bolts on them which means they wont slip. AEM cam gears slip since they have 3 bolts only. A friend of mine had aem and we heard it slip and it didnt' sound too good.
