Brake caliper play. Is it normal?
If i reach through the spokes of my rims and grab the top of the caliper (floating part), I can wiggle it up and down and it makes a slight clank noise.
are my slide / guide pins worn out causing play?
if i'm coming to a stop light and hammer the brakes at slow speed i get a shudder through the car.
thanks!.

I wasn't sure, i replaced both of them about... ummm... 5 years ago. Guess there's a good chance that it's time again huh. Shame, all the sliders and everything move freely.

mine don't do that... well only right after i retracted the pistons in order to change the pads or something. as soon as I apply the brakes the first time it goes (and stays) tight.

so new calipers it is then... lame.
driver side is much worse than passenger side. i think i'll do the one and then see how that goes. if it's tight tight like you claim, i will do the other side.
