Default b16a n gsr thoughts on swap

so i wasnt sure were to post this but i got a crx with a b16a in it and a 94 gsr integra.i was thinking about swaping the heads on each other.the integra is my daily and just got the head rebuilt but now its burnin a lil oil and im gona pull the motor on it.i wana do the poor man type r with it but was wondering what piston to go with for more power but not destroy the gas mileage.the crx is going turbo.I got mixed results searching what happens with a gsr head on a b16 but it seems most say it raises compression.curious as to if its still safe to run 12psi on it with a good tune on pump gas.if not what pistons would be good idea.seein what everyone on honda techs thoughts and opinions were on it and some ideas.the crx is gona be more of a street strip car so not worried about gas mileage on that.and i use the b16 belt for both those setups to rite?

Im not sure why you would want to go through all the trouble. Is there something wrong with b16 head? Cause its the same cast as your gsr, the biggest difference is gonna be the intake manifold and cams. And you can just put the cams in your b16 and save all the trouble.

I put down 337 on pump gas and I don't kno wat compression it is. The gsr is not the same casting the b16 and itr is the same casting. The gsr has more meat in between the valves

Ahh i see. Hmm i dont think the compression will raise much. I know on a lsv b16 heads will give you 9.6:1 and a gsr will give you 9.8:1. So it wont put you out of comfortable boost range

I certainly wouldn't waste the time/effort in swapping heads. They are within 1-2hp of each other, you wouldn't even notice any difference at all. If one head needs some work, take it off, toss in a fresh set of valve seals and a new head gasket and you should be good....plus save a bunch of labor from doing two heads
