AC.....Vents a smoking?
The other day I was drivin on the freeway and decided to use my A/C. I had the controls on #2 for fan speed...had the fresh air vent selected to allow fresh air and the temp turned all the way to the blue. Any ways I noticed a lil bit of white steam/smoke coming from the center vents. It would just puff it for a second or so. It went away and cameback like twice. Could this be cause the a/c is almost never used in like a year or so? I didnt really notice it since but then again I didnt use it today.

Same thing happen to me once, it was the first hot day and I turned it on and it did it. Nothing bad ever happen to it, so I would not worry about it.

It's probably condensation, but slyfbpsi could also be right. A friend's AC system had gone bad and his would "smoke" immediately after he turned it on, too.
Was it making the air as cold as you expected? Did you notice any unusual smell (besides musty) when the "smoke" was coming out of the vents?

No wierd smell. It seem cold and eventualy went away. It literaly smoked for like 1 to 3 seconds max but did it twice and hasnt since. Im just curious if it was just because i dont use it much

Had that happen on a BMW that my brother in-law owns he just had the A/C recharged and did it as soon as he turned it on it was almost like it was that cold or something. I wouldnt worry about it unless it has a sweet smell to it or something.

Condensation from the vents is usually a sign of a bad A/C thermoswitch. In other words, it is not cycling the compressor off. But this is not something that requires immediate attention.

Does this mean my ac is still running when the switch is off?
