Currently im running D16Y7 non-Vtec in my EF

Short story, I need to replace the throttle body in it 'cuz the throttle plate wont open smoothly sometimes it just half open and get stuck.

My buddy had same throttle body laying around for '97 civic SOHC non-Vtec one but its for the automatic.

So my question - Are those (both) throttle body the same? I mean between the one for manual and the automatic? My main concern is just the TPS= Throttle Position Sensor will it work the same?

I just need '97 civic throttle body for manual 5 speed.

I know both are the same throttle body, but the TPS in automatic when you step on the gas pedal.Isn't the throttle plate close and open - read according the position sensor?

the tps show the ecu how much throttle ur using on mpfi cars they do the same now on dpfi they read backwards but thats not in ur case just use the tps u got one the throttle body it will work.

the tps will not be an issue, however if the tb came off an automatic car then it's not going to work. on the y7 and y8 automatic cars had iacv's that were integrated into the tb. they were not bolted to the intake manifold.

if its a tb from an auto car it will look like this

go to the junk yard and get ur self a throttle body off a integra its bigger and it will work make sure its a 5spd or doesnt have the iacv in the throttle body and it will work im using a integra throttle body on my d16z6 no problems
