I have seen this stuff asked so many times before, here are all of the weights of second generation CRXes. All of this information is posted in the autos section of MSN.com I conglomerated all of the years together for you. Not 90-91 didn't have a weight change on any models. All other years, all models weight changed.

i think the 88-89 and the 90-91 bumpers are different so im not sure on that.. and when swapping into a dx dpfi to mpfi is only about 8 extra wires which i did successfully as an unexperienced electrician

Re: (STREETWERKZ)
90 or 91 si crx all the way is the absolute best platform to mod. however if you were obsessed with weight then i would go with the hf. i would leave the dx alone if you could.i have a si and a hf and ill take the 90 91 si anyday over anyother crx chasis.

More precisely, if you were ONLY obsessed with weight, go with the HF. In order to beef it up enough to get any kind of decent handling/power out of it, you'll be bringing the weight right up to the DX level (the Si had the sunroof, which bumps its weight up above "necessary). I still have my '91 Si, and it's my favorite car I've eer owned (out of 23, so far). There are several options to "upgrade" but they're some of the most fun cars out there, right out of the box (or backyard, or friend's house, or garage, or wherever you drive it out of )

Re: (HBK:CRX)
I've owned an 88 crx dx 5spd, a 91 crx auto dx, a 90 dx auto converted to 5sped, and a 91 crx si.
My fav? The 88 DX. That **** was light as hell. It was already converted to mpfi when I got it, and it had 90-91 si rear disc and suspension.
Well worth the work on a lighter DX, but my ideal CRX is no doubt a white 88 crx si
eat that thenick

Re: [FAQ] Differences in CRX's.
HF's had a smaller gas tank.
HF's had only one side mirror.
HF knuckles use a smaller outter CV stub. Same size as the 84-87 Cars.
HF's have a hollow cam, and 8valve motor.
HFs have lighter less complex bumper rebar's.
Hf's also had a better Coefecient of Drag(sp)

The Throttle bodies are the big difference, the top Butterfly, opens 1/2 way on the b1, Also the spacer plate, between the manifold and throttle body has a smaller diameter, on the b1. So basically there identical except the B1 let less air in.
your best bet for making any sort of power with d15b1/b2 is get a d16 mpfi intake and convert.

Re: [FAQ] Differences in CRX's.
Resurrecting the old thread.... did anyone figure out why the DX and Si models went up ~127lbs between 88 and 89, but the HF only went up 23lbs? Then the HF when up 133lbs for 1990?
Is it possible that the door reinforcement happened on the DX and Si in 1989 but only in 1990 on the HF? Anyone else know where that 127lbs would have come from for the Si?
Thanks.

Re: [FAQ] Differences in CRX's.
Hf combination switch is also different (no rear wiper on the right stalk) also HF has thinner lighter sun visors, the steering column is lighter since it doesnt have tilt, the rear hatch has no window wiper motor, holow front stabilizer bar, lighter springs, etc etc etc....norear cargo tray or rear speakers or fold down divider..
