Default z6 n/a vs. z6 Turbo, lets hear it...

A guy's i just got a z6 and about to do some things with it. But don't know what. I hear good thing's about turbo setup's, and keep hearing good thing's about N/a.

I wanna hear from everyone out there that has N/a setup, and from the peepz with turbo.

Pro's and con's from both side's.

Hp number's?

low end?

top end?

tq?

Gas mileage?

Smoked dohc's?

Greddy or Custom?

Let's hear it z6er's...

turbo z6 will smoke a all motor z6
gonna spend just as much to do all motor and get less gain
gas mileage depends on how heavy your foot and how extreme your setup is

thats a start for you

Depends on what you want. You can get respectable power by going n/a, but turbo is *always* the cheapest way to make power.

boost the z6! not worth spending loads of money on a single cam screamer just for N/A

Boosted Z6 will be faster easier, but if you want to you can definately build a killer 1.9l SOHC that would be a hoss. Search for a thread I started about it in the Archives and check out Spade's D series build up as well.

cost is the most important factor. turbo all the way. i could piece together a turbo setup for 2000 that will beat your 5000 na build. na d series just doesn't make sense to me. na b series though... now thats a different story.

I haven't really heard of any all motor street cars doing better than a mid low 14. Buddy of mine has a z6 with a greddy kit in an Si Hatch and he goes 13.6@7 psi. Untuned no less.

Even bisi went to an F22 now. Still SOHC though!

go turbo. im about to get my cam installed and basically complete my mild n/a z6 build. now while it will be a nice improvement over i/h/e, it wont compare to turbo. even a bad-*** all motor z6 build will be what...like ~160 whp, and like 120 tq. boost on an otherwise stock motor at like 5 psi will give you the same hp but more tq, and this is only 5 or 6 psi, and it only gets better with more psi...

a lot of people have more respect for the all motors but i see it this way. If you can get more power for less money, why not?

ps. im poor

As you can see majority rules in favor of FI rather than N/A. You could have found this if you searched. This thread can end here guys, but it probably won't, why because you guys out there who have done a boosted sohc want to tell the world instead of letting this guy get what he asked for which was to see which setup is a better choice. A topic that has already been dicussed, hell there's even a thread going on right now debating on N/A H22 vs FI Z6/Y8. The info is there but he has to fnid it and it isn't hard to find at all. Very cool of you guys to help him but he could have gotten that info on his own. Not trying to be a dick about the situation, just giving my personal opinion based on facts.
