z6 head on y7 block.. timing questions.. interference motor?
Buddy has a civic ex D16y7 block with the origanal d16z6 head.
Are timing marks the same as a z6 as a y7?
I think belt might have slipped is this an interference motor?

When I did mine I set the cam gear per y7, timming marks on the cam gear even with upper head surface. Same as z6, I dont know that. Been running for years with no issues. Maybe someone can give specifics on z6 if you dont already know.

alright thanks anyone else know???
It sounds like there isnt enough compression. If the belt sipped it would bend all the valves correct?

Not always, but very good chance the valves would bend.

Re: z6 head on y7 block.. timing questions.. interference motor? (sageuvagony)
been a couple years since ive done one of these timing belts. Is this right?
Crank @ TDC mark (mark on its own)
Oil pump mark lined up to crank mark
Cam pulley UP with two marks lined up with the head
Honda motors turn over Counter Clockwise correct?
Crank bolt is Reverse threaded or Normal?
And the y7 and the z6 motors use the same timing belt and marks correct???
