i wouldn't want to drive a car 180+mph in the rain.

how did you do against the rustang? what are the rules for the road racing you are doing?
You have an instructor, and the object is to learn the limits of the vehicle and go faster and faster as you learn.
Highly recommended for everyone involved. Well worth it if you car is ANY go (rather than show) at all. This is also where suspension and brake upgrades make engine upgrades look worthless.
The chief instructor summed it up like this - "Just because you have more horsepower doesn't mean the rice rocket behind you isn't going to catch you in the turns".

I think there are events at Mid-Ohio for NASA.
Considering that a good intake and exhaust cost well over the cost of one event, wouldn't you rather have two days of ***** out performance in a safe environment (in your own car, mind you)?

CART does it in the rain as fast if not faster ......and sometimes they even turn right !

i agree shawn.....on the nascar thing....i respect them as racer but i'd like to see them race in the rain.....F1 does cart does.....everyone does cept anything that has anything to do with nascrap...
anyways....glad you got back on track....this was yyour 3rd event?
i just got back from laguna seca....ohmy.....soooo nice.....vir is much more fun though....
ps....i had instructors telling me they wanted me to slow down on dry pavement cause i didn't have a cage....next event....cage was in....

NASCAR has already developed a wet weather "package" that the teams will use at watkins glen in the event of rain...they just haven't had the opportunity to. The craftsman truck series has though...

I agree, NASCAR sucks! The only good part in NASCAR is when people crash and flip and cars explode. Other than that, its a bunch of redneck white guys going in an oval and making left turns for the rest of their life. I know their is skill behind their racing, but I would LOVE to see a NASCAR driver get behind the wheel of a car driven in the JGTC series! They wouldn't know what the hell to do! And by the way, nice rain pics
