Do not put in a bigger fuse, the fuses are the size they are for a reason. You do not want the line to pull more amperage than designed and not pop the fuse and just cause damage to a component.

Re: Why is my Fuse poping?? HELP!
but running a 10a fuse to power all those components seems like it'd be a reason for it to pop.. i know my eg says it needs a 15a fuse for those if im not mistaken..

Sorry I repeated what you said but I see it happen a lot and it frustrates me.

geez, i only mentioned it because if it'd pop one of those it's definitely a bad ground..
him putting it in to test would not instantly start a fire or melt his wires. it would take atleast an hour for it to even start getting hot.
i never meant it to be a full time fix -_-

if it calls for 10a put a 10a in it if it calls for 15a put a 15a .. its their for a reason
if you put a 15 or 20a fuse in a 10a spot and something happens and the amperage jumps to 15 amps and burns up your wires or the componet its suposed to be protecting.. then youll realize that it was suposed to be a 10a fuse.. the fuse is 10% above amperage going thru that component so if it spikes it will protect it
NEVER replace a fuse with a bigger one
to the OP check your grounds for the lights.. if thats not it then you might have a short some ware and thats gonna take you testing the wires

do you know how fast electricity is? its pretty damn fast you can melt a wire faster then you can blink..
you obvously havent been around cars that have or you wouldent be telling him to do this stupid recomendation
and no its not DEFINITLY a bad ground it could be alotta things
shorted wire, a short to ground, very high resistance in the wiring.. it could be alot of things
electricity is never definate

Re: Why is my Fuse poping?? HELP!
Actually, higher resistance than normal wouldn't pop a fuse, in fact a lower resistance than normal as is the case with a short, will pop a fuse. And about fuses, never replace a fuse with a bigger amperage fuse ONLY if you haven't changed anything electrical in the car and/or you don't know what you're doing. If you've added some stuff (like someone added a higher wattage dome lamp recently to their car) in that case you have to use a bigger fuse if the current can't handle the "current" of the electrical system you have in place, AND know what you're doing.
In this case, the problem is most likely a short in the bulb or wiring and you don't need to add a higher current fuse. Just find the problem and eliminate it.

^ Correct a change in polarity is what will cause a fuse to blow. But resistance could be a factor in a polarity change depending if a component is failing or not.
This unfortunatly could turn into a huge discussion.
To OP make sure you post what the issue is.

Polarity change wouldn't cause a fuse to pop. Fuses pop when you overload them with current. A short is usually what causes current overload in an otherwise working system.

Re: Why is my Fuse poping?? HELP!
That's not true. When you have very high resistance, almost no current will flow, and the fuse won't pop, simply because fuses pop when there's more current flowing than the fuse can handle. They are current protection devices, that's all.
I think you're thinking of very LOW resistance. That's what happens when a short occurs. When you have very low resistance, a lot of current flows and if the fuse can't handle that high a current, it pops.

Re: Why is my Fuse poping?? HELP!
no im talking about VERY HIGHT resistance higher then the load the current is going to.. this will act as a short and not get the current to the load and can possibly pop the fuse due to fly back voltage once it is turned off cause the current isnt going to ground and will "fly back" to the fuse and pop it

Re: Why is my Fuse poping?? HELP!
I was driving my car last night and it popped my lights just cut out for no reason so i believe its a bulb, or the ground issue
