The thousands you'll save.
If you look around and shop wisely you can probably put together a decent LS turbo setup for the price of a B18C5 swap.
I used to have a GS-R 6G Civic.. Loved it to death but it was an absolute coke habit if you know what I mean. I might mod my 2000 EX daily driver for some fun.. Going D16 turbo. 200+ whp and gobs of torque for way less.

You can find a b18b swap for alot less than that.... look around the classifieds.

if you want a decently fast motor in your hatch then go usdm b18c1 or the jdm sir-g (jdm gsr) if you want a fast motor in your hatch then go usdm b18c5 or the jdm b18c(jdm type r) if you wanna have your car strait as a racecar then go b18c1 turbo but problems are gonna catch up to you and it wont be worth it in the end unless you have a daily driver

dont mess around with the ls unless your on a tight tight budget, if you are then save cause itll be worth it in the end trust me... the LS in a hatch isnt all that fast of a motor you know maybe a high 14 or something... b18c1 will run probly a low 14 on street tires and the type r will run a mid-high 13 on streets and a high 12 low 13 on slicks stock... hopefully this helps you out some

bah. Don't listen to this guy, he seems a bit biased against the LS. An LS with a turbo will cost roughly the same as an NA c1/c5 or JDM GSR/Spec R swap if you piece together your own turbo kit. You'll be faster in the end with an LS turbo than you would with any b18c NA.

i have nothing against an LS ive just driven a couple ls hatches and its not all that impressive... if you go turbo in a ls itll be fast but you might as well go gsr or itr just to keep the stock motor and keep fast... do you what you want tho cause you know your gonna and thats your car

if you got that money go ls/vtec or b20/vtec and get ctr cams and some cam gears, gsr or b16 trans, a nice clutch, a nice header, and exhaust. you'll have a nice daily driver with some power for the track too. It should set you in the mid 13's all day long.
