Re: What engine is in this SI?
D16 non vtec
Thats going off of the valve cover and the engine dimensions; Keep in mind, the 99-00 SI's came with B16A2's stock, not SOHC D's
**EDIT** There is no Vtec solenoid in those pics

Re: What engine is in this SI?
might be a y7 since the intake mani looks like it.
Interesting, if someone didn't know better they would be screwed with a D engine.

Re: What engine is in this SI?
Y7 with a VTEC valve cover. This car is apparently had an engine swap because the VIN says it is an EMI

Reading the description makes that pretty clear.
" For sale is a beautiful blue 2000 Honda Civic SI 2dr coupe. It has a 1.6L 4cyl SOHC VTEC engine and manual 5 speed transmission with 167967 miles (and counting). This is an actual Civic SI body with an OBD2a engine."

Re: What engine is in this SI?
Looks like a either a D16Y7 with a Z6 valve cover or a Z6 with a Y7 intake manifold. Not the motor that is in the car stock. It should have a B16. Unless it is a Canada model their Si had a D16Y8. No 96-00 Civic D series had Vtec on the valve cover only the 92-95 D series Vtec motors did.
Only real way to tell is to have the seller take a pic of the engine ID that is stamped on the block.
I would not but this car. Way to pricey for what it is. Maybe $4500 with the B16 that was in it. Put it this way I would not sell my 98 Civic Coupe with LS Vtec swap and a bunch of other mods for anything less than $4500 and it needs some paint work. You can find clean swapped Honda's for $2500-$5000.
Oh love the riced out clear tail lights to. LOL

Try to get more info from whoever has the vehicle, if they even know themselves...

Re: What engine is in this SI?
No Canada has a 99-00 Si model but here in the states it is a Ex. The Acura EL is a different car, yes it is a Civic with some changes but Canada also has Civic's.
