Tire Advice
Picking up some Rota Fighter 15x6.5's this week, just want to know what size tires i should wrap them with. My car is a daily driver for now but tires that have good/decent grip and cornering ability would be a plus.
Car is a '92 Civic CX Hatch with HX rims on, the tire size on those right now i believe are 185/50/14, but i'll have to double check.
I searched on Honda Tech and i found a post that said OEM 92 CX wheels are
175/70/13 - 5in wide
and i found another post
Stock for a CX
175/70/13
185/60/14
195/50/15
i'm guessing since i'm going to have 15's on that i should look for tires closest to 195/50/15?

Re: Tire Advice
With a 15x7 wheels I know a lot of people run somewhere around 205/40 or 205/50. Your options vary a little as the width of the wheel offers you some flexibility with tire size. Definitely run a 205.
195/50R15 looks the best as far as profile sizing. 205/50R15 and 195/55R15 probably have better grip and might be closer to OE spec.
For tires, definitely get summer tires. Yokohama S. Drives get great reviews on tire rack, test well, and are the most bang for the buck summer tire out there. There are plenty of other solid options if you want to spend another $70+

Re: Tire Advice
sorry for the confusion, lol i have no idea what i'm talking about, let me re-phrase my last question, if i put on some 15x6.5 +40 with some 205/50 (or 40)/15's will they stick out past the fender or stay inside the fender

Re: Tire Advice
The tires?
You should be a lot more concerned with keeping the oem wheel/tire diameter and less of the way the car looks. If you want to change the wheel fitment appearance you should change the wheel or add spacers. Playing with your suspension geometry by using the wrong tire is a bad idea.

Re: Tire Advice
that's the reason i'm asking, i don't want to pick up these rims if they won't work on my car because there's a possibility they'll rub against the fender or whatever, if they won't or don't fit i figure i'll just leave the HX's on or get a different set of Rota's with a different width and offset size
i'm just trying to get a better understanding, sorry if i'm being a pest
