So, I had to replace the driver's side motor mount. Get everything squared away, torqued to spec, start the car and it stops instantly. I get out and see the timing belt snapped. So my question is, how likely is it that I bent valves? Belt only had 10,000 Km on it. I'm glad it broke in the driveway as I had just driven the car ~ 2k Km for a work trip.

did you touch the crank/ head when you were swapping the t belt?

basicly asking if everythign was in time.

Didn't touch anything on the head or the crank, I was swapping the motor mount on the driver's side. The belt snapped when I started it after replacing the mount. So everything was in time until the break, now the crank is at a position unknown and the cams are of course no longer aligned. Is it ok to turn the motor clockwise when the timing belt is not attached? I know that the manual says to only turn it counter-clock with the belt on.

honestly, it's a toss-up. Had an old coworker snap his timing belt going under 20 mph on his B18 and he didn't bend any valves. Did you hear a big pop sound when it snapped? Anyways, you're going to have to put another timing belt before you can do any tests. So just put one on and start it up. you'll know if you bent some valves or not.

No loud noises at all. I cranked it, and it fired up and instantly stopped running. I may just take it to my friend's shop, I didn't realize I had to pull the crank pulley to put a new belt on. I don't want to try to break it while its supported by a jack. When I did the replacement on my ZC motor it didn't have the timing covers on so I just removed the other belts and slipped the old belt off and the new one back on.
