Re: Thmanx's R-DOT B18C5 project
Head that is brand new & never been used vs some ones beat up/raped B16A2.
It's the value of BNIB vs used. To some it's worth it, to others it's only a dream.

Its not a dream for me, I honestly dont care. id rather get a old head 5x cheaper and take it to a machine shop to have it restored, especially if you are going to modify it in any way its just a complete waste of money. And you can get a B16 full swap from Japan with decently low miles for that much money... I'm not a fan of B swaps but I'm just saying, full swap vs head... For the price you could also buy a head online and have it fully built in any configuration you want for $1000+.

Re: Thmanx's R-DOT B18C5 project
But I'm not changing anything. This thing is beautiful the way it is.
Money is just that, money. You can always make more, do good work and you can afford nice things.
To some a Ferrari is a waste of money because you can make a beat up CRX for less and have it go faster, but it's not the point.
Thia C5 is practically a musieum show piece. You can't beat the reliability and durability of brand new OEM parts. Period. Honda has much more R&D behind them then any one aftermarket manufacturer and you can't argue that.
For me, this is a passion project, I absolutely love working on this and putting together what I believe is a real work of art and a piece of history.
This is MY B18C5, no one else has ever touched it or machined it and fiddled with it. It'll be mine till the day it either explodes or I die. And that's why it's worth it to me.

Nice!!!!! Love this! What crank pulley are you running?
Do you know when anymore details of the kraftwerks is going to be released? I have a engine build waiting at the moment and my piston choice will come down to its details. Wish more info was released!!

Subscribed man, good luck with the car, i support your idea 100%, and i have to say personally going from k series back to b series myself, the k series is an excellent platform, But I will go B series again in my next build. You have to respect Honda's heritage.

I agree.
K's can make amazing power dont get me wrong. We dynoed a K27 NA engine that did mid 350's... Absolutely insane.
But to me, they just dont have that same Honda magic like the B series did. Those B engines simply had more craftsmanship in them imo, something you just cant quantify.
