The goal of it is to have a fully re-assembled brand new bolt-for-bolt B18C5 in my civic.

Here's the photos/video from day 1.

Department Of Transportation.
Basically the R[H]DOT stamp is way to counter theft, and shows that the motor is a genuine honda part, that is compliant with US emission regulations.

Honda puts them on the large replacement parts they sell. Heads, Trannys, and blocks.

It looks like the valves had been tapping the top of your pistons in cylinders 2 and 3 right at the top of the valve reliefs. Was this the case or just the way that the camera took the picture?

Director of Media for InlineFour, I don't think price is a problem for him $2600 for a block, though...there had better be more than just a block there!

As shown in the video, its the full short block assembly. Casting, oil pump, water pump oil cooler, pistons, rods, crank etc...

But it does not have any sensors, hoses, or brackets on it.

My duties @ InlineFour as Director of Media are more of a passion project if anything else.
It's my other occupations that pay the bills, IL4 just provides me a stage and place to work so I can bring this content to the viewer.

In that case, $2600 seems perfectly reasonable. Are you planning on keeping the stock internals, or building it and reselling the stock pieces? I'd bet you could fetch a premium for brand new, OEM type R parts.

negetive... I'm not going to open up that short block.

Have you seen the oil pan gasket on this thing!!

First time IN MY LIFE that i've seen it p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-e-y even all the way around, even from a dealer oilpan job. I'm not going to mess w/ it.

But i am selling the post mount ^_^

perhaps, but thats more of a round of a bout way of doing it.

@ $25 for new studs, nuts & heat insulating thermal washers, its kinda of a no brainer to me (especially if your adding a new manifold to an older head)

part 5 is up, part 6 being shot today!
