Is there any danger with exhaust to close to gas tank
I have a jdm catback on my 98 civic hb and the exhaust runs straight under my gas tank instead of to the side. Is this something I shuld worry about?

If i were you id keep an eye on it, check it every couple of days for a while. Also i wonder if putting header wrap around that section would be a good idea.

Its been on the car for about 6 months or so. I had a junk yard turbo on for about 2 months but was just curious if anyone has heard of any issues with this stye catback.

I just got back from the garage and I just found a nice hole in my gas tank from the exhaust being too close. If you can make adjustments to your piping, then do it. I'm glad I found this out while I was doing my headers. Remember, safety first

Damn, I cant see the exhaust pipe melting the tank itself??? I didnt have any probs like that at all, just a little melting of the tank lining.

I took a hose clamp and stuck it through a fuel hose and put it around the exhaust pipe right where the tank touched. I actually only did it to stop it from vibrating but I think it protected it some. This time I will be wrapping it with heat wrap and putting the clamp on again.
