Swap budget
OK i have a b20/vtec im swapping into my eg. I have a tight budget so i was wondering what I HAVE to get and what i dont?? I know i should get the ARP bolts correct? I was hoping i can just open the block up and just grease everything and reassemble it until i am ready to actually build it. So what all is a must to invest in so i dont screw up my swap besides ARP bolts and all my gaskets/timing belt?

Re: Swap budget
i have the b20z motor and GSR head plus GSR trans and its all complete but the block is seperated from the head so i was wondering how important it would be to put new rod bearing s and rings etc? What all do i have to invest in to be on the safe side?

Re: Swap budget
Having the ARP rod bolts is insurance that the motor will be reliable. Stock bolts have known to fail when doing ls/b20 vtec builds when you are revving higher than a stock ls/b20. I guess if you keep the stock ls/b20 redline you should be fine, but why don't you just stay non vtec?

Re: Swap budget
dont forget to tap the head. the oil lines i would get a block guard and if your save its not that expensive just get some better pistons. and you should be good bro.

ok i have a question on the dowel pins.... they dont look like they will fit to the block
do i have to have anything machined for that or should it just go right in?

Re: Swap budget
damn ok so the block has to be machined also for the dowel pins?
i didnt see any info on that forum about borin for the dowel pins but they sure dont slide right on each other. I just saw the part of plugging the head.
