Noisy
Ironically, this whole saga started with a conversation about whether additives did any good or were just snake oil! I mentioned to my friend that the local O'Reilly was really pushing Lucas gas additive, offering a free "one fill" bottle of it with every purchase of $30 or more. I tried one and really don't think it did anything: I did an MPG calculation on the tankful immediately before the one with the Lucas in it and then on the one to which the Lucas was added, and they were both virtually identical (around 31.5 MPG over 300 miles or so). He replied that he was skeptical about additives as a general rule, too, but that when the steering on his Odyssey started to shudder and howl at full lock last summer, his local independent garage had suggested Xado power steering additive. At $15 a treatment, he reckoned he had little to lose, tried it, and was pleasantly surprised by the result.
Last month I started to notice noisy steering too, asked him what this stuff was called again, tried it myself on Tuesday, and the rest was history. Once again the steering behaved beautifully on the drive in today, with no stiffness or nasty noises.
