Sealing tranny case, RTV sealant?
My tranny case seal is busted, so I was going to take it apart and re-seal it. ATM I don't have any honda-bond just some RTV sealant. Would this work or should I just go get a tube of honda-bond?

If it does work, you saved yourself a couple bucks.
If it doesn't work, you now need to drop the tranny again and do it all over.
I've never bothered using an alternative where Honda-Bond was called for, so I can't comment on how well other RTV sealants work.

Alright, I've got the black RTV sealant.. Don't really know if it makes a difference. Any other opinions? If worse comes to worse I'll just get some tomorrow since I work 1 exit down from the dealer. Appreciate the input so far.

i used 'ultra-gray' almost a year ago when i replaced my ISB. still clean and dry, no trouble.
i think black RTV has a stronger bond than gray, it may be a pain if you ever have to open it again.
