Car:1994 Honda Civic Ex 1.6

Problem: Every single time i would turn the steering wheel, even just a tad bit I would hear this screeching noise at the front wheels..I have replaced the 2 lower ball joints, check to see if the break/ PS fluid(all perfect), and replaced both struts..I still hear this screeching noise, any suggestions on how to fix the noise..


P.S. The P.S belt has some grease or oil on the bottom part of it.

that would be your problem the belt is probably slipping if it has oil and grease on it you probably need to replace it however i would source what is causing the leak of oil so it doesnt happen again

do you get the noise when both sitting still and while driving?

based on what you said it sounds like it's happening while the car is moving. if it were power steering you'd probably get it all the time.

i get the noise only while driving around. People suspect the alignment, any suggestions?

do you feel anything in the steering wheel when it makes the noise? As in, do you think something is rubbing against something else? When was the last time you had an alignment? They're never a bad idea... You may also be able to have the shop look around for things that could be causing the noise while they're under there.

I feel some resistance when i turn the steering wheel..Also if I put it in one position, and let go of the steering wheel, the steering wheel be stuck in that same position until i move it. I bought the car about a year ago, I don't know what they last did the alignment.

Roughly how much is the alignment?
