Power window troubles.
The car is a 00 Civic SI. When I raise my window it goes up fine, but when it gets to the top it doesn't stop. By that I mean I have to stop pressing the button at just the right time. If I don't stop pressing the button, the window will very loudly pop back down about a 1/4" and go back up, and back down a 1/4". It will continue doing this as long as the button that raises the window is pressed. The window is on the track.
Not long ago, this window came off the track. I took the panel off, lubed the tracks, and it worked fine until now.
I guess what I need to find out is how do the windows know to stop when they get to their upmost raised position?

It's not too hard to replace a regulator, it's fairly easy. Just take off your old one and retrace your steps, only a matter of a few bolts.
The only tricky part is taking it out of the door. Sounds like you chewed up some of the teeth on the gear. LMK if you need any guidance.

Re: (Lightsped)
there are two 10 mm bolts that hold on the glass take those off and take the glass out then there are 4 10 mm bolts holding on the regulator just take it out then follow steps backwards if u take more than six bolts out then u took something off u didnt need to take off make sure u lube up the new regulator as to this is why ur old one took a **** on u always lube them up about every 3 to 66 months and u will be good

What holds the electric motor to the regulator? Is the motor easy to remove? I ordered a new aftermarket regulator today, but it doesn't have a motor. My motor seems fine and strong.
