Default Pirelli Tires - Rota Slipstreams - H&R Street - Will it fit?

First of all I don't want to be flamed for posting this in here and not in the wheel section. I wanted opinions of people who view the EG section and have experience with tires/suspension on these vehicles only.

Here is my setup:
93 Civic Hatch
H&R Street Springs (Installed)

Rota Slipstreams - Black (Purchased but not installed)

I had a hard time deciding what tires I want on these. On tire rack the recommended tires are 205/40/16.

Here are my questions:
1. Will 205/45/16 fit... Will it rub the fenders or the wheel well?
2. I want to get the Pirelli Nero M+S tires, anyone have/heard anything about these? Are there better choice?

Here is the link for the tires: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...1=yes

Thank you guys for your responses in advance, and also just if anyone wants to be funny, I did do a nice zerosearch on this, and the search engine didn't co-operate too well with the whole inch " character. Would not find 16" or something to that extent. And I did tons of browsing, so I just decided to ask...

if it's the stock width (i think 5 inches) i think you'll be fine.. the new diameter of the tire will be less than an inch larger than the stock one.. so you should be fine with the H&R street

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ZeroSearch &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Your search for 16 wheels and 45 tires returned 33 results.

The following words are too short or too common and were not included in your search: 16, 45. </TD></TR></TABLE>

So its so hard searching, can someone please confirm. I read on HT that someone was running the 205/40/16 without a problem, personally I don't see a problem with it being 45 instead of 40. And I really want the pirelli tires, and I need to get them in 45 since they are not made in 40s...

BTW bump...

The wheel is 16 x 7, so its not stock width....

I had the exact same setup as you at one point:

H&R Sports
16'' Fox 2's (don't know offset)
205/45/16 Toyo Proxes 4's

I did rub. It wasn't too bad, but I rubbed when I turned hard and also when I had 3 ppl in the car. This was because of the offset of the wheels though.

with 16's it will rub, i'm steering clear by running 14's with falken azenis's,

if i were you i'd get something different than pirelli's, go with some falken ziex's or some toyo's (slighty better price i would immagine) i wouldn't recommend any high end tires just cause it doesn't seem like you're looking for more grip but just an application that works with your setup already

goodluck

Sizes would help out, so i can verify everything on the tire calculator by miata.

Come on HT there have to be some other people with something similar to this setup...

I'll keep this alive till late night tonight, till then anyone? If we get enough confirmations on what fits or not, we might be able to create a sticky and help everyone on HT in the future...

oversteerINGS thanks for the input

what is the drop on the H&R's?

I ran 205 45 16's (ES100's) without rubbing with eibach springs.

I don't understand the HELPs of "guess it's ok" .. I think the user that posted has a gues too, that's not what he wants..

I am SURE that EG with springs HR, 15*7, 205/50R15 does rub, a friend of mine had that problem with H&R. This is what I know.

I am puting 15x6.5 Rota slip stream with 195-55r15 with eibach and i guess i will have problems.

Good luck, if it does rub you can solve it too.
