I'm guessing you got the car super-cheap or something?

IMO I wouldn't go with more than a stock build - just enough to sell it. Unless you toss it onto a chassis rack ($$$), there could be unseen frame damage. Those upper side rails may be intended to crumple, but do transmit energy back to the cabin shell when they do crumple. Do the doors open/close and line up perfectly, as well as the removable top?

did you guys modify the hood hinges? because i was thinkin about putting spacers on mine as well i like it when the hood is up alittle like yours. i use to have an 89 honda hatch back i went on the e-way and hit 122mph and my steering handling was pretty sloppy.. i put washers on the rear spoiler about 20 degrees up and the hood i raised it a good 3/4 of an inch and i increased handling because of the air flow over my car pushin it down more and i went up to 132 mph instead of the original 122mph

i hate the front end on Del Sol's...i think it looks like it was made for a 10 year old....the EK front will look really good on there if you do it right. and by right i mean stock looking. That lifted hood is hideous! its the first thing your eye goes to. How often are you going to be going above 100 mph where that really matters? I would rather have it sit nice and flush and be clean IMO. but on the EK conversion to the front. Do it right and it will look primo.

good spirit lol but yeah i cut my fenders in half.. i should of cut them after the bolt(when you bolt the fender down from the top cut it after the bolt directly downward) to make it easier on me but **** it i'll see when i start welding it.. but yeah i just Bought yesterday a grinder and ima cut under the hood spot like your talkin about as well. post up some pics. cuz im staring mine next week and get everything a lined so i can see if i need more mods.. i'll post some when i have the chance to take pics.

$1300 seems like a lot of money for a car that was pretty much totaled. I guess that it was a good buy since you were planning on doing the front end conversion. For me though I would have walked away from that one. Too much damage done to be certain there isn't hidden structural problems.

Otherwise, good luck with the conversion. Just watch out for hidden problems.

ahha cool spirit here is the area i cut.. and it looks really nice..
I did not use.. half of the fender.. since the del sol fenders were long enough

i cut mine in 3 sections because the ek have.. like a bebel on the fender and i wanted a smooth fender.. like the original del sol
ill have more pictures of my sol once its painted and hopefully i can finish this week or next!! trust me haters wotn be there no more!

You can also use my example.. i wanted to mount everything before i even cut the fenders.. so i installed the core suport first.. and the bumper to insure.. everything will go in
I did not have to cut.. my hood at all.. other than the.. hinges. .which i cut in half because im using the original eK hinge.. and it was not closing right... but i cut.. my del sol hinges.. in half.. and since i did a prop on them it really closes down nice now!
the reason why i lifted my hood is because.. just about to finish my turbo set up.. and I love the way.. it desipates heat.. really So its really up to who likes it or not!

If any more questions just let me know i have more pix!
Gl on your penn

BTW.. the car will be Top Secret Gold.. if anyone wants the code LMK

oh and it was not a lot of money.. time yes.. but not money after all
i spent around $250 which i dont consider that much for this big of a change..
and that is all in just parts.. I also did i a retrofit on my headlights with
Lexus rx350 Projectors Phillip d2s bulbs,
i have pic you can ask me questions too ill take pics of them on the sol i tell you guys it looks mad.. mean

and talking about a hybrid car...
im using 2005 Toyota Celica GTS seats... haha LMK what you guys think they fit beutiful!

oh and here are my tail lights hahah
The only tail lights like this in the world!
