sounds like you may have a ristriction in your condensor causing excesive high side
pressure. all the extra heat from that is then pushed through the radiator causing the overheaing.

Re: Overheating only when A/C is running?!?!?
So, I've changed my thermostat, and my car no longer overheats when running without A/C. When I run it (the A/C), it starts to get hot so I turn it off and turn the heater on and the temp. goes back down but still tries to get hot. It does not do this unless I run my A/C. My radiator is 240,000 miles old, I have a water pump and timing belt kit that I need to put in it as well, but I just want some opinions on why this is happening?! radiator clogged? water pump going out?! it is not the headgasket i don't think because my car runs normally, no smoke from exhaust and no milky oil/coolant. Car is a 1997 Civic LX. D16y7 Only mods to engine is a CAI. Also If I'm running the A/C while driving at freeway speeds, the car doesn't start to get hot until I slow down to street driving or idle. What's the deal?!
