Default OEM Exedy or Stage 1 Clutch

im looking to swap my clutch on my 95 del sol. It lags to accelerate on 2nd gear even my friends have told me that it feels like an automatic. im going with exedy for sure but cant chose between oem or stage 1. as for mods i just bought the car so as far as i see the only mods are

AEM intake manifold
K&N short ram with those are holes on the hood right over it to kinda make it a cold air i guess (yes im a noob when it comes to cars)
and a exhaust that is REALLY loud i dont know the brand but i dont know if that has anything to do with performance or not

im on a budget so im stuck in between getting OEM exedy with lighter flywheel (stock del sol is 16lbs and i want to go to about 10 lbs? what doyou guys think?)

or exedy stage 1 with resurface flywheel

i looked up the prices on oem and stage one and there is about a $150 difference so if i go to stage 1 i want to be sure there is a big noticeable difference

my engine is a 1.5 non vtech i just bought the car and previous owner put a ricer body kit so i get people trying to race me all the time, im not a racer nor am i trying to race my car but i do have a lead foot and like to go fast.

if you guys can give me your thoughts that would be great

my friend recently got a stage 1 exedy on his 06 si. it engages almost as soon as you lift the clutch off the floor. feels light as a feather but thats how all new clutches feel. if you want more feel/response than by all means go for it. its daily driveable by all means. and if you plan on doing any big mods in the future (forced induction, headwork), you'll need it. but if you want the comfortable effortless feel of a clutch, go oem.

yea if it was a d16 or even a b16 vetch engine i would be looking into putting big mods but its only a d15 and i have no plans to swap engines yet. as for a flywheel would you happen to know how light is too light for my car?

and is there a big difference that would be worth spending that much extra cash to get the stage 1?

There is NO need for anything other than the exedy OE replacemeant clutch in this case. As for a lightweight fly wheel research before you decide I can tell you haven't AEM doesn't make intake manifolds....you have an AEM short ram with a K&N filter. pls tell me that those holes in the hood are not just cut out

what would you recommend for weight on a lightened flywheel? i have been doing research and understand that it makes you hit redline faster and you do see a increase in acceleration but thats all. no the hood was professionally done

here are photos of them, as for the AEM intake manifold i just checked and its a thick metallic sticker so i dont know if the previous owner just put it on there for looks but i pulled it a bit back and it looks to have been there since day one i googled and cant find such a thing so you are ight there is no such thing thank you. and no its a K&N short ram with specter filter i think

yes the previous owner put on a evo body kit which is hideous and stupid looking AF the rear bumper has dual exhaust holes when its only a single. its a work in progress but i just started fixing it up so give it some time

And what facts made you say that....stage 1 or whatever stage(3,4,5) does NOT mean better. For OP an exedy OE replacemeant would be best considering what he has done. light weight flywheel no real need makes you feel faster but won't actualy do anything for you'r stock D16

Wow. That's awful. Is that a Prelude front end? and don't even put any more money than is necessary in that D15. You are barely making any power as it is. Just save up for a B series swap. These SOHCs are for economy, not performance. Obviously the last owner didn't know that...

this is a complete random question, but does a d16a6 use washers along with the head bolts?

OEM Exedy. With no major mods whatsoever you're just wasting your money buying a Stage 1.
