Default obd2b B16a2 into 98' civic EX Wiring

I got a 98' Civic Ex with a d16y8 and I want to swap to an obd2b B16a2 out of an em1. I've searched for info on wiring but cannot find any.

I have vtec So there is no need to run wires for vtec and i know i have to extend some wires but I would like to know does everything else plug right in? I am obd2a and i would like to know if ill need jumpers or to switch any of the plugs. Im good on everything else besides the wiring. Let me know thanks.

Everything is plug and play except the distributor, you can rewire it or buy a 96-98 gsr distributor

Okay cool is there a jumper harness i can use to get the dizzy wiring to work? So all other connecters will plug right in? including iacv and pcv?

I'm pretty sure the 96-98 SOHC and 99-00 Civic Si distributor plugs are the same. The 99-00 SOHC are the smaller plug. So no need for a jumper, just get a 96-01 Integra GSR or 99-00 Civic Si dizzy. The primary O2 will need to be extended to reach the B16A's placement.

Youre also going to run into an issue with An ECU.

Of course you can run a jumper harness from OBD2a to OBD2b and use a P2T, Or OBD2a to OBD1 and get P28 chipped for the b16. Unless you can find a 96-97 Del Sol VTEC ECU which is a P30? I forget the code but theyre rare and go for a decent coin.
I dont know exactly where youre from and if you have emissions.

Aside from that its a basically drop in swap.

Yeah you'll need a OBD2a to OBD2b ECU adapter to use the B16A OBD2b ECU, looks like you are in Cali. Also just remembered the CKF sensor by the crank is 2 wire on the B16A and 3 wire on the Y8. You'll use two of the matching wires and tape up the third.

So then I will need the plug off the si harness then correc??

Some people saying everything is plug and play and i only have to extend o2 sensor wire and then u say CFK sensor is different. I am obd2b ex harness i will be using.

IS the purge control vavle connector the same?

okay but question now is the purge control valve plug, r they the same?

And since the y8 is 3 wire CKF and the b16a2 is 2 wire i leave the extra wire out of it but do i need the plug for CKF off the si harness or how is this mod actually done???

Would it be better to put a d16y8 3 wire CKF sensor on the b16 so then the plugs will match right up? whats the easiest way??

it is good that you are looking ahead for problems rather than running into them and getting stuck.

search for the ckf fix. or swap or something. just search.. there is another beautiful picture filled diagram made by the same person as that dizzy one.

i did this swap everything on the motor is plug an play depending on the route you take. if u use your harness that came on the car u will have to switch out a few plugs (ex. iacv is 3 wire on the ex and a 2 wire on the si)if u use the si harness it all plugs up. with the ecu u also have two routes, u can use the si ecu and harness with a obd2b to obd 2a jumper ( i have both a 110$ if u need it ) or u can use the ex harness and change the few plugs that r different and use a p30 ecu from a 96-97 del sol vtec. good luck finding one of those i got the last one in the country at retail unless u can find one used. if i were u i would get the jumper and use the si harness so all u have to do is pretty much plug up an ecu

that wont work because si harness is obd2b and it wont plug in to the dash harness. and the ex harness is 2 wire iacv. all 96-00 sohc vtecs and b series have 2 wire iacv so its only the evape purge valve and CKF im worried about

use the 2 wire ckf plug to match the b16's ckf. you'll notice that two of the wires match up to yours and then there'll be a third that doesn't. cut off the third wire and splice the 2 wire plug to the two remaining matching color wires.

iirc, the purge control valve will match up. are you needing to pass a visual smog inspection or something?

Yeah i got to pass visual to pass the BAR over here dont want to be running around with an illegal swap. Got fines for like $900 if you get caught with a swap

Okay so everything looks good. All i need to do is extend wiring and get the b16 CKF plug and splice it onto my ex harness. Im cool off the IACV since im already two wire. So the CKF is the only one i need to worry about then right?

You can't do that. You'll have to use the (96-98) Del Sol P30 OBD2A ecu to pass BAR.

Im pretty sure i cant BAR with the p30 tho since its out of a del sol and this motor is out of an em1. IS there a way i can repin the plug so it will go into the p2t ecu without using a jumper harness?
