Need more supportive seats
I am looking to get a more supportive driver seat for my 00 Si. Are there any decent seats out there which will bolt right in? Do I have to have a bracket/slider? I am fine with bolting the seat in a certain position. I never slide my OEM seat up or back so thats no problem.
Basically what I am looking for is the easiest seat swap I can do with my stock hardware.
Thanks

How much are you looking to spend? At the low end of the spectrum you could pick up some 94-01 Integra seats; they have a bit more bolstering and they also feature lumbar adjustments. Another option is the JDM Ferio SiR (EG9) seats, which I actually like better than the Integra seats. Both of those seats will bolt in perfectly but with only three bolts; I hear that you have to swap the inner rails to get the rear inner bolt to line up, but I've never done it. You could also make a bracket and/or just drill directly into your floor.
If you want to sit a little lower and do a rail swap, you could pick up some del Sol seats.
I see that you also have an Evo...what do you think about those seats? Have you considered picking up a Recaro for your Civic?

I am thinking of going aftermarket. Something like a Sparco Evo. Which model of Sparco would be the easiest swap? I don't like the idea of drilling holes in my floor. I'd like the easiest aftermarket swap possible.
Thanks

Re: Need more supportive seats
The seat model doesn't make any difference, because they sell the rails separately. All of the Civics from 96-00 around the world use the same rails, so if you find some "EK9" rails or anything for a 96-00 Civic you can use them. You can also use DC Integra (94-01) or EG Civic rails (92-95) but they'll only bolt in with three bolts.

They'll bolt in just like OEM (assuming, that is, that you get the proper 96-00 Civic rails. If you try to put 240SX rails, for example, into your Civic, you will encounter problems)

Re: Need more supportive seats
I had Sparco EVO2s in my STi that were very comfortable but not very practical for daily use. I guess it depends on what youre willing to put up with but just remember a fixed back bucket race seat will make rear access very difficult and getting in and out of the car less than graceful. They are great for keeping you in place when youre throwing the car around corners but can get to be annoying if you are carrying passengers or need back seat access.

Just buy a nice seat and it should come with a set of rails for a little extra. If your going to spend the money, you may as well get it done right. Especially if you get them used but in good condition. That is the way I went, and I am very happy.
