My GSR Build - Please Comment/Assist/Share Knowledge
Let me begin,
I have a 92 Civic Hatch
I have swapped a JDM GSR B18c motor into it, and need suggestions/comments on how to proceed forward.
Engine Specs: Estimated 13:1 ish compression
Block: B18c - from H Motors
81.5 mm Bore
81 mm B16b pistons + .5 mm CP oversized piston rings
LS Crank (Balanced, machined)
LS Rods (Balanced, machined)
ARP - All bolts (Main, Head, Rod)
Stock .030 Head Gasket (***Want to replace with Cometic .051***)
Head: B18c1 2000 ish* JG Machine work
5 Angle Valve Job/Port Polished
Skunk2 Springs, S2 Tit retainers, S2 Oversized valves (not sure what size, I didn't put it together)
Stock b16a** Cams
slight nic on head surface
S2 Intake Manifold
Megan Header
S2 Full cat-exhaust
330cc Fuel Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Chipped p28 running ITR basemap until tune
Transmission: Stock GSR with upgraded clutch
Here's the question:
I want to upgrade cams, but the oversized valves are keeping me from going S2 pro, must stay tuner series, also need to up the size of head gasket.
Any suggestions on what to do from past experiences? Or just plain comments on my build thanks.

A quick search shows more than one person running Pro series cams with oversized valves. You just have to check your V2V and be careful with it.

I would suggest staying away from PCT pistons. Try P30's instead. Especially if you plan on driving the motor with an ITR basemap until you get it tuned. With that compression, I don't see your motor lasting long enough to stay healthy on the dyno.

Thanks for the replies guys.
@jbp - I emailed a rep from skunk2's help desk whatever, and he advised me not to use any pro series cams with any oversized valves at all, thats why I said that, but I haven't researched these threads too much about it. So I will look into that thanks.
@anothersickhatch - I don't know if I'm correct on this, but I'm pretty sure I have the pistons from the jdm b16b engine, or at least I thought the b16b pistons were the P30's. There are so many engine codes and piston codes I could be mistaken, so I may have mis typed it in my info, but I meant b16b as to be the jdm b16 with p30s. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. Thanks again for the replies guys.

Yeah, Skunk2's "official" stance is to not use their pro series cams with oversized valves, but that hasn't stopped plenty of people from doing it.
As far as pistons, if you're still looking for a set, check out CP. They're some of the best in the industry.

@jbp Thanks man, I appreciate the input. Yeah, forged pistons are pretty appealing not gonna lie, I'll definitely look into S2 Pro cams
