How can I tell the difference between a non-abs mc and an abs mc.

and can I use a 90-93 integra master cylinder on a 92-95 civic with a civic booster?

One dead giveaway is that all ABS MC's are 1" no matter what trim car they come out of (this includes the 90-93 Integra).

You can use the 90-93 Integra MC on your civic, but you need to use the matching 90-93 brake booster as well.

If you want to go that route, i suggest you find the Integra RS 15/16 MC and matching booster (from the DA and the DC chassis). That way, you won't have any issues bolting it straight up to your EG chassis hard lines.

The 1" MC's have a 12mm rear hard line (closest to the firewall), whereas your EG has both of the hard lines at 10mm.

The only 1" MC that has both hard lines 10mm is the JDM ITR MC, but you'll have to bend the lines a bit to get them to line up with the MC holes.

I reached out to Brake expert for his help on this and he was on point with his answer if you want search (Thebrakeexpert) and you will see his post the master cylinder you want to use is the 91 civic ex master its a 15/16 with the 10mm or -3an fitting so the lines will bolt in thats what he advised me and it fit perfect. I too made the mistake and bought the wrong master. 1in is to large unless you are running a dual piston caliper in the front and even then its a little much for a small eg.

yup, brakeexpert is a very knowledgable guy. i've asked him for help before and he has almost all the answers

for the record though, Canada never received the '91 civic EX 4-door, so i was SOL on that front. working as a parts advisor at acura allowed me to 'try out' different setups and that's when i discovered the Integra RS 15/16 MC (after having tried a '93 GSR 1" MC and failed).

another thing i tried was mixing and matching MC's and boosters...not a good idea as some of the mounting holes are rotated the other way and pedal travel can be only 1cm before full locking of brakes.

the 15/16 is working well for me as i didn't want to bend any lines and have not been able to find a JDM ITR 1" MC locally yet. i'm using it on my 5-lug EG with Spoon calipers..no problems

what Im trying to do is put a da mc on my si hatch but the bolt pattern on the civic booster is like \ and the integra mc is like / ...so im thinking that I can just rotate the stock booster 90 degrees

my 99 hatch came with ABS and had a 15/16 ms and rear drum brakes. I did a conversion to rear disc and upgrade to 1" ms. so not all ABS hondas came with 1" ms

When you guys are talking about these master cylinders. what do the numbers 15/16 refer to?

won't work, get the matching booster to go with the DA MC.

if i remember, the mounting for the BB is 4 long 10mm studs that are rectangular in configuration. if you flip it upside down, the vacuum line nipple will also be at the bottom.

94-01 integra mc bolt right up with out changing the booster on our eg's correct???

'92 - '95 EX sedans with ABS also came with a 15/16 master cylinder. On another note non ABS '93 - '95 EX coupes used a 7/8 master cylinder with a standard civic brake booster.
