Default Limp Mode??? no vtec...

Okay. I have a d16y8 in a DX shell. I have the right ecu & the knock sensor, solenoid, & oil pressure switch are all wired in properly. 2-wire IACV is all good.

I got one CEL code. 22. Vtec system malfunction. My car limits out around 5500 or so. (think my tachometer may be is slightly off. Definitely about 3-4 mph off. Might be because I have a y7 tranny) I think this means limp mode. I believe you can OHM test the solenoid. I've tried to reset the ecu. Stumped.

Im almost guessing this has happened to a fair share of people on here. Whats my next step???

Vtec engages over information from the tranny, IIRC. No Vtec tranny, no Vtec?

I could be wrong though but I think I may have heard this somewhere.

the tranny has nothing to do with vtec other then it needs a VSS signal. your car is not in limp mode i had the same problem with 5500 rpm redline and it was my tach, if it was in limp mode it wouldnt go over 4k. Code 22 is the pressure switch not the solenoid it self. you can do two things replace it or connect the solenoid to the pressure switch like so.MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH OIL AND THAT YOUR OIL PUMP HASNT TAKEN A **** ON YOU.

A8-------SKYWIRE-------C15. also you could do it in the engine bay just tap in to solenoid and the power wire on the pressure switch.

I myself have a similar problem. I have a 2000 automatic integra. I converted it to manual with a b20z and a type r lsd tranny. Car revs fine with auto ecu obd2.However I converted it to obd1 with an obd2b to obd1 harness alongside a 1995 obd1 p75 manual ecu. And now the car wont rev pass 5500. It hits 5500 but then just goes down and picks up again. The problem only persists while with in obd1?

How do I fix this?

Thanking you in advance
