Leaky distributor seal
I have a 95 honda civic ex. I have a pretty bad leak from my distributor o ring and today I opened up the distributor cap and saw some oil in there too. SO apparently the shaft seal is leaking also. Also, I've recently had very low power when its hot outside. Someone suggested the possibly the issue might be the ignitor in the distributor. I have several questions.
1. Does anybody have a website where I can get the distributor shaft seal. I haven't seen it anywhere?
2. Could the oil leaking into the distributor have damaged any of the components within the distributor?
3. Should I just go ahead and replace the entire distributor? This way I don't have to worry about the doing surgery on the dizzy and it would replace the ignitor. Cost much more.
4. Is there an easy way to line up a new distributor without a light? If i were to use the same distributor I would mark it and the engine and just re-align them on re-install. But if i use a new distributor, will I be able to get close enough by trying to estimate based on the line I drew on the old distributor?

Re: Leaky distributor seal
How many miles on the distributor?
The only way to set the ignition timing is with a timing gun. I think you can get a free rental at an auto parts store.

218,000 on the distributor, but the coil is new.
I'm just a little intimidated by the timing light. I was hoping I could eyeball it based on the old one? You don't think so?

Adjusting the ignition timing isn't difficult. See diagram in the FAQs sticky.
