PS - OP bought an 03 Accord 6-6 Coupe like a week or two ago.

Totally serious.

He saw the light and realized that ricing out Civics is for teenie boppers and old people who don't realize how old they are.

Guy grew up; can't say I blame him.

It never seems to go that way anyways, let them roam free.

Damn can't wait until TWD starts dealing with the idiots that walk among the dead.

I had a 7th gen v6 accord, its a fun car. Comfy, safe, pretty nice. I wonder if he's gonna put a blower on this car, give up half way thru and then buy an Odyssey?

He's still stuck in ricer mode.

He overpaid for this Accord. If I were him, I would've bought a 335i. Would've given him more power than any POS Honda he's ever been around. BMWs are easy to work on, but not as easy as Hondas, so it'd be too difficult for him to go full retard and **** with it to the point where it wouldn't run anymore. Better resale value, better reliability, much newer, and an all around more respectable car.

But instead he goes with a 13 year old Accord for $7500.00.

Slomofo if that was the out the door price and it had like 60k on the ODO its honesty sorta fair. BMWs aren't easy to work on lol, you need all torx **** just to **** with german cars. That's not all, they're ******* pieces of ****. The computers six. He can take an engine out rebuild it and put it back together, he can't be too retarded. He would get more poon with the 335, you're right about the respectable thing. I would like a 5 series wagon tbh.

Clearly you're a tire or lube tech and/or a Honda tech (same thing IMO).

BMWs are super easy to work on, but guys that came from dumbed down dealerships (Honda) think they're tough ****.

Torx bits? Boohoo, welcome to the 1989. Look at every other car on the road, you'll see a lot of torx screws. I'm sorry that Honda has to be the last company on earth to conform to the rest of the world (last to use distributors, last to get a decent AWD system, last to build a reliable automatic transmission, etc.), but at some point in time, you just have to accept that technology has to evolve and if it means buying a torx bit or heaven forbid, having a second ECU to control different functions of the car, then so be it.

Don't forget triple square sets. Torx, allen heads, triple squares and circlip pliers that actually work properly are kind of a necessity.

In all honesty it doesn't take me longer to do anything though, even to niche V8 mercedes that I can find a manual for.

Torx bolts aren't bad, Honda steering wheels use them. The security version specifically.

Honda still doesn't have a reliable automatic trans lol, last i checked they still have problems with V6 automatics. I'm not even a mechanic by trade, it's a hobby for me. I mean, i was a tech for like two days but then the whole funnel thing happened and **** that jimmy wichard dude i worked for.

"BMWs are some of the most expensive cars to maintain over the long term" -consumer reports. Their parts are expensive and repairing them just sucks. As soon as you've got a dumb problem with it, you might as well just crush it.

i only disliked bmw's when hanging with the horrible, cocky uti student crowd. they're a blast to drive, out of the box. i had an 01 540i 6m/t m sport, untouched it was by far and away the most hpde/spirited driving/fun ready car i have owned. were the parts expensive? that depends. compared to a civic, sure... but mountain bike parts are expensive compared to a civic. are they harder to work on than a civic, you bet, but so is my john deere lawn mower. one thing the bmw never could give me that my current track car ('90 integra) can is a gritty, raw driving experience. the bmw was quiet, well controlled, and lacked that sketchy feeling that only driving an early 90's honda product at an obscene rate of speed can give you.

also, sad to hear about narc's "grown up" car. **** being a grownup, if it means watering down who you are into a neat little package.

2013 is when I last drove the prelude in anger. 2009 is the last time the mr2 ran properly, 2007 or 2008? is the longest time for one of my cars. I take on new projects to cockblock everything in from being taken to scrap by the *******. I need to somehow bait and switch and have an open window to do it this week.
