doesnt sound like tech-only to me, sounds like alot of opinion and personal preference.
and even when you get to "doing a eg build, what engine should i use?" again thats opinion and personal preference. most people have a preference to one engine or another, or one engine family, but nobody can tell you what engine you should use. all they can tell you is advantages and disadvantages to each....then each person has to make up their own mind.

im trying to figure out why people insist on lying about 1/4 mile times on-line?? i mean, what does it prove??? there is no way in **** a stock d-series is breaking high 14s at best unless the car is completely gutted and tuned for the bolt-ons. anyone claiming to have a full interior, un-tuned, bolt-on single cam running low 14s in the 1/4 is pulling globs of **** out of their ***.

Re: how is my d16z6 fast?
I call BS too!! (stock Z6, 14.1 in the quarter?) no way
I got a mostly stock Z6 in my sedan & i've beaten B16's, LS's, a GSR, even a V6 3000gt at the track and my fastest time was a 16.4. Like everyone's been saying, alot of things go into play, & a number of things could be the cause for a slower car beating a faster one. When it comes down to it, it's all in the driver & how well you have your car tuned.

anyone in here who thinks their stock d16z6 runs any better than a 16 in the 1/4 obviously leads a life full of bloodstains and buttrape.

a 14 second 1/8th mile run is certainly believable though........ although it would take a terrible launch to run 14 on an 1/8th even in a z6.

You can call it what you want, I was there and you were not. His car is a 99 SI with 90,000 miles and runs perfect. That being said, a car that has roughly the same power to weight ratio but more torque is likely to be a little bit faster. Now, given the lag and and the over all crappyness of the auto trans he could not pull neither could I.
