I did a GSR swap into a 94 DX for a customer here in town and here is what is costed him:
110,000 mile USDM GSR swap without axles/header:$2000
Used JDM DC sports header from me:$250
2.5 Carsound cat from me:$75
Axles from me:His stock 1.5 swap
OEM ITR clutch kit:$330 my cost from Honda
Flywheel resurface:$50

Oil,Oil filter,Antifrezze etc...:$45
My Labor charge(Pull motor from donor GSR also):$400

Not bad price at all.

Re: how much did u spend TOTAL on your GS-R swap (FBP ITR #0055)
97 USDM GSR Swap installed for $3800 w/ B16 Tranny, Skunk2 Intake Mani, Skunk2 Chipped P28, OBD2->OBD1 Harness, ACT Street Disc
This included the stock gsr manifold installed so I could pass the state ref
w/ only 27,000 miles
I think I got a pretty good deal

how did that work out. i got a quick ? chad. i have a 98 vehicle. that is obd2 correct. i want a 98 or up gsr engine right. that will also be obd2. or do i want an obd1 engine and just get a conversion harness. which will be easier

Re: how much did u spend TOTAL on your GS-R swap (98civichtchback)
unless you're me, you probably won't have all the problem i had. Its strange, tho, because i'm the most carfull and particular person and its a jinx.
Normally the swap is pretty straigh forward like any other b series. Ignoring the exhaust crap, and all the bad luck with wrong parts and stuff not working, the wiring was my only genuine difficulty; too many unknowns. there are so many different stories about wiring IABs and as well, there were wires that my cx chassis harness were missing that nobody here said anything about, like the 4rth alternator wire, and some rad fan relay wire (thats still not hooked up, dunno if i need it).
Its my 3rd hybrid swap, and i could probably do it again in a long weekend, counting my chop job ex harness conversion.
Main thing tho, after all that, i got a good engine, good compression and a good lsd tranny (so far). Its fun to drive, not counting the feeling that my head is imploding at 4krpms from the exhaust boom. No, not too bad, i'm sure i'll get used to it. i see guys out there with a lot louder mufflers than mine, just waiting to get smoked.

Re: how much did u spend TOTAL on your GS-R swap (daver)
I got a 95 USDM b18c1 motor/tranny/mounts/shift linkage/wiring harness/ECU/axles from a local junkyard for $2000
It had about 69,000 miles on it when I picked it up. I verified that by the odometer.
I had a few misc. expenses afterwards though. The axle seal on the tranny was missing, so that was like $1.50, one of the axles was bent, $70. My shift linkage AND shift stabalizer was bent, $150 new from Honda.

i dont know who the hell was stupid enought to go through that deal with you. thats a ripoff to whoever got that b16 plus a measly 250 bux. not for a COMPLETE 98 ITR SWAP. b16 long blocks go for about 1000-1500 bux then add 250 bux to that. you are saying you paid about 2000 dollars for a complete 98 ITR SWAP. hmmmm ok</TD></TR></TABLE>
here's the deal...my homey with a del sol got busted and had to see the state ref. so he had to go back to stock. his car came stock with a B16 sooo...he was desperate so I gave him $250 and traded him my B16 so he could pass. So get off my nuts and quit hatin' before you know the whole story!!!

$3000-$3500 average price. Question. How many of you went ahead and replaced the water pump, timing belt, cap, rotor, wires, valve cover gasket, and check the oil that was in the motor?.. Or to put in laymen's words, service the motor before installing it.
