How do you extend 02 sensor wire
I have a turbo downpipe and my o2 sensor wire is not long enought to go to the hole in the downpipe. How do i make an extension. My uncle says you don't want to cut and solder the wire b/c he says that it throws off the voltage a little and messes things up. Is this true? I have a A/F guage in the mail so i'd have to splice into the 02 wire anyways for that wouldn't i? Any help would be appriciated.

yeah what your uncle says is true. even if you solder the a/f gauge wiring...once you open that wire up...the metal hits air and starts to rot/rust/etc. i know because i have this problem and have yet to fix it. what i did to connect my harness to the O2 on my cat was make an extension using a male and female plug from a dead O2 and another wiring harness. i soldered the wires using NO CLEAN FLUX (has no acid) and used srink tubing with electrical tape to seal the bastard. then just plugged one end to the O2 and the other end to the harness. I'll take a pix of it if you really need a visual.

Re: How do you extend 02 sensor wire (shermanyang)
thats what i was thinking about doing but it's so hard to find dead o2 sensors. 4 wires are so rare in the junk yards. Are there any other 4 wire plugs off a obd1 civic or obd0 honda/acura that i can use
