High idle?

High idle?
On cold start, my car ('93 Si) idles at about 2.5-3k. I wanted to know about how high it should be idling from a cold start when it's about 40ish degrees outside and if there was anything I could do to fix my high idle (if it is in fact higher then it should be). I just wanted to get any potential problems with my car out of the way before snow starts falling, thanks.

That seems pretty high even if it is cold out. Make sure you don't have any intake leaks. I had to replace the intake manifold gasket and it brought it back to normal idle. Does it stay that high or drop back down after it warms up?

Within about 5 mins it drops down to about 1000ish I think. The idle is fine after driving for a bit, but it seems pretty high on start-up.

on a cold start my car idles high as hell too, and its not normal. im doing my research and taking everyones advice, and checking everything. unlike your motor, when mine is at running temp. it idles at 1500, but sometimes changes idle to 1000, or even 2000, its an annoying problem, especially at stop lights
