Default Help with idle problem

I see a lot of people with low idle speed. Mines on the other is around 2 to 3k rpm when started up. The car is really loud. It almost sounds like its about to blow up. Any one have some solutions.

If idle speed is the problem, can someone help me find the idle adjustment screw on my 98 civic ex. I can't seem to find it. Some pics would gladly be appreciated.
Thanks.

Check out the pic and see where the part is located on your engine and adjust the screws on there. That should help. Also, trying cleaning you Idle Air Control Valve.

Its located on the firewall side of the intake manifold(red circle around it). There are 2 screws that hold it onto the intake manifold and 2 hoses that are connected to it. If there is a gasket in between it, make sure to replace it with a new one, otherwise it will go bad real fast. I made that mistake with my prelude. Once you remove it, check the screen that is located on the inner sections that connects to the manifold. if it is rusted or bent, get a new one. Otherwise, just clean it with some carb cleaner. Also make sure your throttle is completely shut at idle, if not, your throttle cable is too tight, leaving the throttle flap slightly in the open position.
