Default help! car won't start. Yes, I searched

ok...my gf drove from the mall to my house, walk inside for one minute and when she went to start the car, it wouldn't crank like the battery was dead. Just tic tic tic. The window rolled up really slow so I figured that was it. So i hooked up jumpers and the windows roll fast again, all the lights works but the car doesn't start. still ticking. here's the weird part. the radio is on, but there is no music and you can hear a dead tone from the speakers. I'm stumped. I checking fuses and nothing's blown so far. When i shut off the radio...the tone stops. also, I only get the ticking sound when I hook up the battery to jumper cables. When I remove the cables, the battery dies immediately and the windows roll super slow again.
btw...its a 00 si.

this sounds stupid but try puting a new battery in because it sounds like the one you have is no good at all

I cleaned the connections with coke. When I hook up the jumpers, it should start right? even if the battery is dead. the windows rolled up fast. yeah...car is stock. alternater connection is fine. what's up with the radio?? think it might be a short circuit but i dont know where to start. everything was working fine before all this.

is it definately not the starter? and would a short circuit cause my car to not start? what about the main relay? i pulled that too but haven't done any test on it.

when you hooked up the jumpers and rolled up the windows were the jumpers still attached to the battery? If they were it just sounds like your battery is dead and wont hold any charge. If she has a habit of leaving the lights on and killing the battery this would probally just be the aftermath of draining and jumpin the battery over and over again. This happend to my lil brothers 95 ex

when the jumpers are hooked up...there is a loud clicking coming from the starter so i think i'll start there. still stumped on why the radio stopped working. let me clarify...radio has power, but nothing coming from speakers except dead tone.

this is crazy, but I got a new battery and it fixed it. I was using a plug in portable battery charger/jumper and I guess it malfunctioned so it was giving power to the battery but jacked up power. at the same time, it drained it. tried the same charger on another car and got same symptoms. Then I jumped it with regular jumpers to another car and it started right up. i guess that portable charger was old or got left outside too long. who knows.

ps. another tip. if your battery is totally dead, it won't start, even if you hook up to jumper cables. I didn't know that.

yea. I had the same thing happen to me on my old balzer. we tried every damn thing you could think of to get the battery to charge. finnaly just broke down and took it in and it was UNSERVICEABLE. pos. quite interesting how you cant even get a little charge outa batteris sometimes.

Personally, I would eat some taco bell, get the runs, then blow out into the valve cover opening, works for me every time!
