Default having problems with my ek

hey guys, im new to this forum and all so if im repeating things lmk.

well i recently traded my baby (95 eg coupe ex ac ps b16b built head) for a clean 99 ek hatch dx. now the problem is when i got the car (like always hiddin ****) the idiots put a vtec harness on a non vtec motor (d16y7) and put a y8 mani, now my problem is the car is wasting mad gas i mean more gas than my 5.0 mustang... now to explain everything that is disconnected are both o2 sensors, crank posision sensor, and iacv. now iacv is connected but the problem is its not reading right so i guess its throwing alot of fuel or somthing to compensate or w.e for the air..

if anyone knows whats going on please lmk email or w.e
im trying to go back to stock or atleast stop wasting gas. before i swap the motor. im doing stance then power so please anyone out there can help me it would be awesome thanx.

plug them in that's why you're getting **** millage.

on the 2nd note the cps should be hooked well they all should be but out of all those, those 2 stood out along with the iacv.

i dont think you understand... vtec harness has one o2 sensor and non vtec has both.. non of the wires are even close to the o2 clips if not i would have connected them along time ago. lol im about to just waste money and buy a obd2b non vtec harness its pissing me off also idle is really low..

First off, EJ6. Not EK.

Second off, the harness used in your car isn't even from the correct YEAR if it doesn't have two O2 plugs. You need to run wires for the primary sensor. The secondary sensor won't affect fuel mileage, but the primary one definitely will.

And you didn't notice that the CEL was on when you were test driving it? Or was the bulb removed, and you didn't notice that it didn't turn on and then off when you started the car?

How about instead of getting butthurt, you take the advice given to you and fix your problems instead of being shitty. If you already know so much, why did you even bother making a thread? Why don't you just fix the problem?

I don't have a problem. You're the one who decided to catch an attitude when I corrected you on a dumb mistake, and tried to help you. Maybe you should work on your social skills before you work on your wrench turning.

3 years honda tech 2.. i think my wrench skills are good.. lets start fresh. when i got to work i plugged my computer in and all 4 sensors showed up.. i looked at the harness and tried fixing the iacv but nothing and looked at the o2 sensors but nothing ended up happening cause i was thinking at the time i should just get a obd2b harness and everything should get fixed but now that i think about it idk since the kid put a y8 mani.. understand?

3 years, and you decided to create a thread instead of fixing all known problems and going from there?

For the IACV, make sure you aren't mixing up your plugs - it's an easy (and common) mistake. Is it a 3 wire, or 2 wire? For the O2 sensors, either they used an OBD1 harness which has no secondary O2 sensor, or they used an OBD2 EX/SI harness, which would have the secondary O2 sensor in the dash harness, rather than the bay harness. What ECU did the PO use, and is there an adapter harness? That would make it easy to figure out what harness was used. Did they use a Y7 exhaust, or a Y8 exhaust?

it would be a lot easier, a lot cheaper, and a lot less time consuming to just run wires for the O2 and IACV sensors, rather than completely replacing the harness.

At least it has the right ECU.

Sounds like an EX/SI harness, then. Just run find an ECU pin-out (they're all over the internet) and run your own wires. Hell of a lot cheaper and easier than ripping out and replacing your whole harness.
