What's it matter if someone else has done it? If you want to do it, then do it. Weigh everything and let us know how much weight you saved. Would make a good thread.

Take out charcoal canister, rear seatbelts, seats, all unnecessary hardware. If you dont daily it then remove the rear bumper support and A/C components. You might be able to take around 100 lbs out.

100lbs I can see coming easily, after that, you have to start looking at ounces and grams saved here and there. Does the shifter need to be THAT thick? Do I really need THAT much material around the bumper support mounts? Does that thing need ALL the bolts to hold that part on? Does that bolt need to be that long, or can I shorten it? What can I drill holes in without weakening it? What can I replace with a lighter material?
In an extreme case, my friend has an 1839lb WET Mazda Miata, including turbo hardware. Its still a street car, but every effort was taken to make it lighter. He thinks he can get another 40 or 50lbs if he gets his hands on some raw (and very expensive) exotic materials.
It just depends on how far you want to take it. If you are just looking for the 'free' weight reductions that dont cost you anything, ide say 100-120 lbs you should be able to remove without having to replace materials, or cutting and drilling.
