yea me too, im prob gonna sand them down more, and paint them like a gunmetal color or something, ive decided against the black for the most part...but we will see, what do you guys recommend to get the wheels down to an even finish to paint, i think all the scratches in my wheels are in the clearcoat only but i will find out, i gotta get a set of jacks so i can take the wheels off to clean them better and paint them, as well as clean the brake calipers and paint them, and prob gonna put new rotors on at the same time, im gonna order a set of brembo blanks, prob will do pads at the same time
now that you said rotors, what do you guys think about ebay rotor and brakes? i heard that all of those things are the same and to get blanks instead of drilled and slotted, if ebays not bad its like 100 bucks for 4 rotors and all the pads

I recommend clicking here first.
I'd recommend Aircraft Paint Stripper to remove clear coat, then wet-sand, lastly polish with Mother's.

Thanks.
I have nothing better to do and doesn't take that long. Hahaha

To get back on topic:
The coilover set-up I have are the Ground Control coilvers on KYB GR-2's which are now called Excel-G I believe. Rides smooth.
I personally went that route as oppose to Koni Yellow's because I haz no moniez, haha. Nice 4-Door by the way, is looking good.

i love the pics, ill pm you links to ones without the license plate blacouts crz or send me youpr email and ill email them, im slowly learning how to edit stuff but im not as good as you by far...btw the gunmetal looks awesome im more excited now about getting that dones, next week im gonna pickup a set of jacks so i can do the wheels, im also gonna need a compressor...prob gonna find a used one...like a 35 gallon or so should be enough

as far as brakes and rotors im gonna get the brembo blanks on the marketplace here, they were like 120 or so, which i think is worth it, considering that brakes are what stop the car,

im gonna order tools the next few weeks instead of parts unless i find a part for a really good price then ill do that instead...but i realized today that even if i have all the suspension parts to put on i dont have nearly enough tools to do everything

i saw your pm, didnt have time to reply though,

i gotta start to look into all season tires, any recomendations? next spring ill get a set of summer ones, and a set of steelies to mount the all seasons to, i think the tires are a higher priority then suspension right now, forunately i know two brothers that each own a tire store, so ill prob end up talking to them and see what they reccomend as well as what deal they can get me on each, or maybe ill just buy tires myself and only pay them to mount them for me,

noooo not my bros the guys i know are brothers to eachother not me...i just finished hardwiring my radar detector...just gotta adjust the slack i left near the detector itself...i wanna change my sun visors to GTI ones...i saw it done some where and i wanna do it so that i dont have the little piece sticking off over the rearview mirrow, because with the detector mounted i cant flip down my visor...plus i like the vanity mirrors with the lights...i saw some one do it some where just cant find it again...

anyway to the radar detector...
i have the detector itself mounted centered above the rearview mirror:

and then the control unit thing is mounted in the little pocket in the center console, and i tapped into power behind the cigarette lighter

i still wanna run a second wire from the alert led and put an led in the speedometer needle so that it will flash when the detector goes off

well last night i messed up my rear drivers side door a bit...just was sheer stupidity, but two weeks from saturday im going to harrys you pull it in PA with a buddy of mine, so i should be able to get a crap ton of parts then, prob getting the whole coupe front end, and my rear drivers door at least...becasue i gotta save for my tires, but then in another few weeks again ill go in my car and get more stuff, im going with my friend for this since he has a truck, i dont wanna try getting a whole front clip to fit in a sedan so ill wait on the smaller parts and go on my own

im trying out my gimp skills in class...took off the plate, doesnt look too bad imo...i should post the pic with the plate relocated but it would look shitty because id be hiding the plate...but still...i think when i put the coupe front im gonna shave the mounting points and use a side mounting bracket like this one so i can remove it when wanted:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JDM-License-...sories&vxp=mtr

i think itll look good, i wanna do it with the sedan bumper, but because of where the mounting points are i dont think it will look good because the holes will still be there...idk ill prob just order it anyway

well i started messing with the coupe front end swap though i only have the bumper,

well ive figured out that i need the coupe corners, bumper, and to make it look best the coupe fenders front half welded to the sedan fender rears...maybe the rad support as the sedan one is longer it appears to me...ill get a lower angle pic to see though

Only when the cop is running LADAR. Standard RADAR detectors can alert you before the cop locks you in.

after seeing the bumper on im so psyched to get the front end finished

starting to do a semi wire tuck as i dont have the patience to depin plugs, nor do i have a soldering iron right now...next week im going tool shopping, soldering iron, jack, jack stands, more hand tools etc

ill post pics below when i get done what i can today

well since i dont have a soldering iron now i didnt get to do to much with the harness but i did get the wiper fluid hose thingy tucked into the fender, im also planning on doing a battery relocation to the trunk, and moving the fuse box either under the passenger seat or to the trunk with the battery although that would be a ton of wiring...im trying to find a battery fuse to put in the 12v cable coming off the battery but i cant find anything that like what im looking for, same thing for distribution blocks...eventually i will...im also considering a battery cutoff though i really dont see a need for it, eventually ill get a smaller battery and put it below the floor where the spare tire goes but until then ill leave it mounted in teh trunk, how safe is it to do that by the way?

engine bay with no tucking done...should be done next saturday though, as well as a new rear drivers side door and possibly the whole coupe front end....i really wanna get the car painted then so it all matches and is all new paint...will look 20 times better but tires are the next priority after the junkyard

where i have the hose for the wipers going through the fender, when i go to the junkyard im gonna pull a piece of this hose thats longer so i can route it exactly how i want it

stupid people that cant park....

my friend says i should get a jeep instead of the civic...while id love to get one as a second car you cant argue with the gas economy of the civic in comparison to the jeep...this is pops 2012 lx but mines quite close

actually its at like 27.5 right now

well i went to a junkyard today with a buddy to pull some parts for his jeep and some for my car, i got the coupe fenders, both with damage towards the rear, but im gonna figure out where to cut them and ill get them welded then my front will be done besides paint, i also got a set of fogs from a jeep grand cherokee which i already mounted behind the bumper, and a rearview mirror from a dodge with map lights built in, and im also gonna run the wires for the radar detector with that so you wont see them as much,

on the way home i got a couple tickets...might have my license suspended...if it does get suspended, there is a silver lining car and tickets will be paid off before i get it back then since im not spending gas ill have that money to get more parts with...

last night i cut the coupe fenders in half, then sometime next week im going to my buddys house and hes gonna weld the fenders for me, im only waiting til then since i dont have time to get any bondo and to sand and paint the fenders and bumper atm and i dont wanna be riding around with the weld marks in the car and half the fenders a different color, also next weekend im gonna relocate the fuse boxes to under the passenger seat, theyll be relatively easily accessible there, and not too far from the factory location, or do you think it would be better to extend the wires more and put them in the trunk right near the battery? im gonna have next weekend off from work so plenty of time to work on the car :D plus i wont have to drive anywhere from thursday night til monday after noon, and even if i do i can borrow pops car

im trying to decide what to do while my wheels, should i sand and polish them, paint them black/gunmetal or plastidip them?
