Icon2 Driver side window doesn't always work!

My driver side window works intermittently on my 1994 honda civic EX coupe. I've check the motor and that's fine. I've replaced the switch. I've checked the ground and it has good ground. All my fuses are good so now I'm just kinda at a loss. Does anyone else have this problem?? If so how did you fix it??

Your switch is dirty. It loses conduction sometimes. You have to wiggle it to work. This kind of problem can never be tested. It's a 19 years old car. What do you expect? Take the switch apart and clean it or replace it entirely.

I didn't know you could take the switch apart. Is it just the 4 screws on the backside of the switch?

Yes. But it's cheaper and less time consuming to go to junk yard and buy the whole switch.

I actually did that very thing and I had the same problem but I thought that maybe it was also dirty from being out in the weather 24/7. I'm definitely gunna try to take apart my switch and see if that help.

I didn't know you already did that. If that's the case, then try cleaning the connectors. Especially the one at the door that's connected to the body. Loose connectors can also cause this. It might get loose when you close the door hard and/or when you go on bumps at some speed.

Yeah that kinda sounds right because the guy I bought it from said that the window worked until he slammed the door one day and then it hasn't worked since then so it kinda sounds like the puzzle pieces are falling together now.

I cleaned the terminals in there and it worked and then stopped again so im thinking it might be the window motor so im gunna try to replace either just the motor or the whole regulator.

Could also be broken wires in the door jams - common problem.

I you take the fender off you have access to the harness that's from the door to car. It can be loose. They always have yellow grease crap in them if it doesn't have that junk they doors been taken out most likely. I would check the plug it usually won't come undone unless po has taken it off before and not put it back on correctly

Have you sprayed silicone grease in the tracks and lubed gears and plastic roller guide with petroleum based grease? My driver's side was intermittent as well and after greasing her up a month ago it's been working every time.
