Do you think there's hope for this Del Sol? Pics***
Yea so there's this guy selling a 96 Del Sol Si that got in a accident and he's asking $700 for it. Major problem is the passenger side rear quarter panel and door and the guy says no frame damage and it still drives great. The door can be easily replaced, but what about that quarter panel?? Is there hope for it.
I have a friend that works at a body shop and does good repairs so I know I wont be paying him a arm and a leg to fix this.
Also I'm only planning on spending a max of $2000 if I do decide to get it.

The quarter panel can probably be popped out and fixed with some body filler. Don't know if it will ever be perfect but it can probably still look good again.

Yea I was thinkin it could be popped out. When I got into an accident with my EF it looked the same exact way except on the driver side and my body shop guy fixed it up perfectly.
i really love Del Sols and finding a 96-97 arent impossible but hard

your going to have to open the door and see if the striker plate and area (b pillar???) are bent if so you would be better off to cut and replace, not just pulling it out, depending on how much your buddy charges for the repair it will be close to 2g's don't forget the cost of normal maintenance items like brakes etc before putting it on the road

In my opinion, you will be spending more than $2k on getting back on the road looking good. I would pass on it, unless he is basically just giving it to you for $150 since that is what must junkyards would pay for it.
Now if you had a garage, tools, time, and patience it would be around six months and just under the $2k.

Car is toast. Not worth all the insane amount of money that you'll need to spend to fix it.
That damage will not "pop out" lmao. You're better off spending the 2-3k from fixing it on a clean title, clean body del sol. GL

Thanks for the opinions I have so far. I dont want to rush into buying a Del Sol and have to spend alot of money just to get it running again. I'm just going to take my time and find a perfect one for me. A few of them pop up on criagslist everyweek so it shouldn't be too hard.

I was also looking at the first few pics and was like. "this guys getting a hell of a deal" then in the last pics I literally jumped in my chair at the horror lol But you can get clean quarter panels for about 125- 150 around here. If you have someone that will cut out the bad and weld the good..there might be hope for this car. I hate to see another one scrapped...especially a 96 model

that would be so ghetto trying to fix that, by the time you have it all pulled out and start using filler it would be like tin foil
