^did that to my car after it was sitting a year before i bought it. blew a piston ring. got a new engine. in process of swapping now. taking forever cause of everything else going on.

that sucks. why didnt you just rebuild that engine? a blown piston ring isn't all that bad. you could have thrown in some high compression pistons while you were at it!

that sucks. why didnt you just rebuild that engine? a blown piston ring isn't all that bad. you could have thrown in some high compression pistons while you were at it!

would have if it wasnt the d15b8 had to first get something with more valves . i drove with the bad ring for six months or so before it said enough and left me on the side of route 73

oh i follow. well if i would have had that motor to begin with, i would have been looking for an excuse to swap it lol.. so you could say it was a blessing in disguise

it was a blessing. i was happy that it blew up. i have the engine out and am ready to put the other in. i need four hours and a friend to get it done though which is hard to come by at the same time.

Before I'd run it I'd pull the plugs and spray some WD40 or PB blaster in the holes and let sit for a hour or so them manually turn the motor ever to make sure that a ring isn't stuck to the cylinder wall.
