Do I need new struts before I put on my lowering springs?
I have Skunk2 lowering springs and i was wondering if the stock struts would go bad fast if I out them on? Should I get new struts to go with my springs?

^not always. are you struts saggy/bouncy now? if not there shouldnt be a problem if you want a modest drop. ive been riding on my stock struts and lowering springs since january and no problems.

your basically adding extra stress to your shock and eventually it will give out. Faster than it would at stock height. Its along the lines of : push a baloon across a surface it will be fine, put your hand on top of it and push down it will pop much faster.
I rocked my eclipse on lowering springs and blues for a couple years and never had a problem and thats a much heavier car. There shouldnt really be any issues, but it wouldnt hurt to swap them while you everything apart.

different things happen to different people, sometimes they blow out in a day, sometimes they last a few months, personally I would replace them now, but then again I don't half do things

its all about moderation. if you plan on slamming your car ~2+ inches, then yes they will blow faster. my car has done roughly 15k since january and no problems. then again i have common sense

do it right the first time or do it twice
in other words, buy shocks now. Koni yellows are excellent.

its better and cheaper if u do it all at once. why? if u not doing it urself u will be visiting the shop 2x, alignment 2x= a lot of money.

shop fee's??? LOLOLOL i have 4 jack stands, an impact gun, friends and a domino's for a reason. alignment is the only thing ill have to pay for more than once, but my next alignment is gonna be after a legit coilover install.

Well, if you wait 6 months to a year, you would need another alignment anyway. Most places will give you another alignment free within 6 months or a year depending on how much you pay.
I rode on tein springs for 6-8 months with my tock shocks and was fine. They weren't blown at the end, I just bought konis. The negative is you will have to do it all over again eventually.

One of the bigger things is spring rates, my friends dad was on tein stechs and stock shocks for a year and they were just fine..
lowering a car a inch with some what close to stock rates, the shocks will last a bit longer.

you need to change them if I were you i would buy the ones that come for the lowering springs. its a smoother ride and last longer

Re: Do I need new struts before I put on my lowering springs?
i would change them, i bought my skunk2 lowering springs with the skunk2 shocks. I haven't installed them yet but I will definitely be installing them together and leaving my stock shocks and springs as spares
If you have stock shocks, it'll be fine but you'll definitely blow them out earlier than normal and you'll just have to end up doing/paying double labor to go back and install the new shocks, when you could have avoided the situation on the first install

not everyone have the tools or the experience to do suspension. i paid 150 to get mine done and that is dirt cheap in seattle

Not to mention what to do if you break a bolt... It took me two hours to extract a LCA bolt with a sawz all, a drill, and a pair of vice grips...
Not to mention I had to drop the LCAs, shocks, and sway bar all as one piece because I couldn't get the bolts off the shock/LCA with an impact gun...
