Differnence in between em1 and ej8 exhaust?
Whats the difference in between a civic ex and si exhaust? The reason for asking is that I have a ex with the Si rear swaybar, and am wondering if the si exhaust is bent differently to clear it? Im about to buy a aftermarket exhaust

Both exhuasts fit; the ex muffler will clear the SI sway bar. The only difference is that the si exhuast piping is a bit larger (probably up to .25 inches) but it tapers to a restrictive section (forgot where), which is definately the most retrictive part of the system.
Overall the SI exhuast system is a bit larger in diameter than the EX. I had the complete EX ehuast with the SI sway bar for a few years, then i paid $20 to get the complete SI exhuast; I am also using the CAT off the EX with SI piping.
The SI bends are very similar to the EX. Problem is, an aftermarket exhuast may vibrate against the sway, depending on the manufacture. I had a bolt axleback that rested on the sway bar and would clunk every-so-often.

There is no difference between the two. you should be fine. If you are still worried just cross reference the part numbers for the specific exhaust you are buying.

Yes, if you look most companies will list a exhaust for an EX and another one for the Si, but if you look at the part numbers they will be the same.

It looks like one is for 92-98 and the other is for 99-00 civics. If you have major worries just click the support link on the web site and send them an e-mail. i'm sure they can help. Also do some research on google, you can find that exhaust for a lot cheaper that $699.
