Different approach. Difference in o2 sensors and what Ecu is should I be running???
Did some searching before I decided to start this post. I have a 97 dx civic hatch. Motor is a b16a3. My primary o2 will not turn off after everything I've tried with Ron's help. I think he gave up because he hasn't written anything back in a while so I'm approaching this problem a diff way. I have a p72 gsr ecu in the car right now. Obd2 everything. Auto to manual swap. I have the primary wired directly to my ecu. Pin a6 b/w wire primary o2 sensor heater control on my Ecu I believe does not work. So I have a6 b/w wire spliced into a5 b/w second o2 sensor heater control. I now have readings on my multimeter and test light all the way down to the back of my o2 sensor plug on both black wires. B/w and voltage on the b/y wire. So my questions are????? Is there a difference in electricity or ohms or anything between o2 sensors. Del sol b16a3 primary o2 vs the b16a2 primary o2 I am currently using??? Also I honestly do not know what Ecu to run with the setup. Im thinking the o2 problem could be from the p72 im running obviously from pin a6 lol but in performance as well and also im very curious in this. Everyone says my b16 should hit vtec alot harder and louder then it does. I know I need an axle back but I have. Whale p**** intake. headers all the way back 2.5 test pipe and piping to a stock axle back for now. Any input I would gladly appreciate and any solutions to this would make my damn day lol thanks. And don't look at this post and not write anything!!!!

As far as the O2 sensor goes, yes they are the same. Even a D-series 4 wire O2 sensor will work, generally it's the length of the wires between the O2 sensor and the plug that's different. As far as the ECU goes, a P72 looks for a 4 wire O2 sensor so that isn't your problem. That isn't to say there isn't something wrong with the ECU, but assuming the ECU is good that isn't your trouble (you should be running a P30 though, or a chipped and tuned OBD1 ECU.

If it comes down to the harness and tank I'd eventually do it. But I deff want to avoid that. My whole plan was to go with a chipped p28 or possibly hondata cause that's what everyone always suggests. Do you think a p2p single v would possibly work just to pass inspection? I've been trying everything. Waiting to get paid on the first to try a brand new denso o2. I have an old denso that came with the car and I have a universal o2 that was 22 bucks and that didn't work either. Gonna try a new one and see what happens!
