That would also bring up the issue of safety. Cars have exerior mirrors for a reason. But I think he was looking change his mirrors not shave them off all together.

Cars are required by law to have a mirror at least on the driver's side. Check your local laws before you jump into any of the plans you have.

I would have to say that there's a big difference in how it alters the appearance compared to the other things you mentioned

Door handles don't stick out from the car on a del Sol, and barely at all on most other cars if any. Door handles are small.

Emblems barely stick out from the car.

Antennas... well many cars don't have them in the same way, they have fins on top. Honestly, no car without an antenna actually looks like it's missing the antenna. You don't even notice. Antennas are an eyesore and losing them is a good thing.

On the other hand, side mirrors are rather bulky, and are the only item sticking out the sides of a car. A car with no side mirrors would look much more out of the ordinary than a car with no emblems, antenna, or door handles. You would notice it almost instantly.

Haha, so did I... just in a different spot. I installed a Metra amplified hidden antenna in the roll bar. It gets decent reception. I use my iPod 99% of the time but I don't like it when things in my car don't function, even if I don't use them. So I got the antenna. lol

I used an antenna block off plate. If I had the skills/tools/motivation I would shave the antenna hole but the blockoff plate is good enough for me. What bothers me about the stock antenna is that it makes the car look like a remote control car.

As far as the mirrors i will have to look in to local laws like NOFX was saying. if i can, ill pull the mirrors off and see how she looks and decide from there. Like i said earlier just trying to get some opinions and appreciate others views and thangs i havent thought of

I also got a block off plate, lol I dont like antenna's because it makes the car look old and not modern.

i had never seen the block off plates for it. i just took off the paint, ground it down, welded in a filler and bonded and sanded it. sounds like youre way was way faster and easier. As far as not having the knowledge, forums and doing something is the only way you learn how. lol, the rc car is funny ****, one of the guys i work with said i have to be carefull of it getting stole because he said someone could just walk up and put it in there pocket. lol, he drives a f450

Any other front end on a del sol that isnt the del sol front end looks like crap, because it's like a mini version of whatever car that front end is from.

Like above said, let the Sol keep its Sol. Worse comes to worse, switch to the non-foglight style front.

I like conversions i did an integra dc front end on my eg. I wish i would have left it alone at times but, you know how that goes. I would like to do the jdm dc conversion sometime down the road. If you do a conversion just make sure its what you really want, its hard to go back when its done!

^Prime example of why Honda gave the Civic a different front end than the integra.
