Del Sol: disable dim clock
Just wanted to share this with you guys since I couldn't find much when I searched. This to disable the illumination on the Del Sol's clock so it's always bright. The reason I did this is because when parking/headlights are on, my clock is so dim that I can't see anything. On civics, you can cut the illumination wires behind the clock to eliminate the dim feature. However, on the Del Sol it's not that simple since our clock is in the gauges. I was trying to disable this and I cut the illumination wire and that made no difference with the clock since the circuit behind the gauges supplies the power. I had to solder those wires back up since they supplied the power to the gauges when the parking/headlights are on. My mistake.
Anyways, to do this you have to remove the gauge cluster from the car and just remove one screw that supplies Illumination power to the clock. You can either remove that screw and leave it out or just put a rubber washer small enough so it doesn't come in contact with the circuit in the back. I put the screw back in, incase I want to go back to factory setting and that way I won't lose the screw. I didn't have rubber washer so I just cut a rubber hose that I had lying around and just made a tiny hole in the middle.
I've attached pictures to show you which screw I'm talking about.
Hope this helps some of you out there.
